The Tecnam ‘Echo’ is a ‘new generation’ high-wing microlight of aluminium construction with fibreglass fairings and fabric control surface. Powered by a Rotax liquid-cooled 4 cylinder aero engine of 100 hp it flies like a C150 on steroids. Cruise at 16 litres an hour is 90 knots. Owned and operated by Coromandel Flying Club, it is available for instruction in Coromandel and Whitianga through the generous availability of resources by the MBAC.
